Ty Lawson will get the chance to rectify his checkered past with a new team.

The Nuggets dealt the troubled point guard to the Rockets on Sunday for what amounts to a truckload of spare parts, according to Yahoo Sports. The report said Denver acquired forwards Kostas Papanikolaou and Joey Dorsey, guards Pablo Prigioni and Nick Johnson, and a protected 2016 first-round pick in return.

The Rockets also obtained a 2017 second-round draft pick in the deal.

Lawson, 27, was arrested twice in the last six months on DUI charges. He entered a month-long treatment program for alcohol abuse last week in an attempt to change his off-court career trajectory.

Lawson, the No. 18 overall pick by the Nuggets in the 2009 NBA Draft, averaged 15.9 points and 9.6 assists — third-best in the league — in 2014-15.
