A championship for either team would be historic, with the Thunder yet to win as their current franchise, following their move from Seattle in 2008. The SuperSonics last won a title in 1979.
Indiana would also break their championship drought, having lost their only other previous Finals appearance to the Los Angeles Lakers 4-2 in 2000.
