His representatives met with the Pelicans today, with both parties reportedly very positive about the move.

The 26-year-old became a restricted free agent in the off-season when the Brooklyn Nets signed him to a $35 million offer sheet. Houston matched and tied him to a four-year $35m deal, only to renounce his rights shortly after, making him free to choose his new destination.

New Orleans waived Reggie Williams this week to create a roster spot.

In his last season in Houston, Motiejūnas played just 37 games, averaging 6.2 points on 43.9 percent shooting, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.1 assists in 14.8 minutes.
