Dwyane Wade suited up for the first regular season home game of his career on Oct. 31, 2003, when the Miami Heat hosted the Detroit Pistons.
On Wednesday, the three-time champion appeared in front of the American Airlines crowd for what was the final time in his Hall of Fame career. He finished the night with 30 points on 10-for-23 shooting including 4-for-10 from beyond the arc.
As Wade has exemplified what it means to be a member of the Heat for the past 16 years, an emotional outpouring of love and support were to be expected ahead of the final game in front of his home crowd.
What he received somehow exceeded those expectations.
