Josh Giddey is in line for a massive payday this year, set to sign a new contract in the realm of US$150 million.
The Australian guard impressed during his debut season with the Chicago Bulls, bouncing back from a rough start after being traded by the Oklahoma City Thunder.
But as he enters the most important off-season of his life, he broke down exactly how the league pays their players.

Giddey earnt around US$27 million during his first four years in the NBA, with his rookie deal coming to a close at the end of the 2024-25 season.

“You can choose to be paid your yearly salary in 6 months or 12 months… most guys choose 12 months so they can get paid year around.”

As his key free agency approaches, the former sixth-overall pick took to Snapchat to explain exactly how NBA payments work.
"You can choose to be paid your yearly salary in 6 months or 12 months," Giddey wrote, answering a fan's question about how players in the league get paid.
"Most guys choose 12 months so they can get paid year around.
"Get paid every 2 weeks."
The Aussie will be hoping his bi-weekly paydays will come with some extra zeroes from next season onwards, as he continues to be a productive point guard in the league.
