Giddey earnt around US$27 million during his first four years in the NBA, with his rookie deal coming to a close at the end of the 2024-25 season.

As his key free agency approaches, the former sixth-overall pick took to Snapchat to explain exactly how NBA payments work.

"You can choose to be paid your yearly salary in 6 months or 12 months," Giddey wrote, answering a fan's question about how players in the league get paid.

"Most guys choose 12 months so they can get paid year around.

"Get paid every 2 weeks."

The Aussie will be hoping his bi-weekly paydays will come with some extra zeroes from next season onwards, as he continues to be a productive point guard in the league.
