Josh Giddey is in line for a significant pay rise, entering restricted free agency after an impressive close to his debut season in Chicago.

After being traded from the Oklahoma City Thunder to the Bulls during the off-season, the Australian guard took some time to find his footing, but following the All-Star break he came into his own in a massive way.

This return to form is set to be rewarded, with his current team reportedly eager to re-sign him to a massive deal.

The Chicago Bulls look likely to bring back their Australian starting point guard, who is officially a restricted free agent - meaning he can field offers from any team, but Chicago have the ability to match.

According to The Stein Line's Jake Fischer, the Bulls plan on re-signing Giddey to a deal worth between US$20-30 million annually.

"Chicago's Josh Giddey and Philadelphia's Quentin Grimes are two more restricted free agents soon to face their own challenges in this marketplace," Fischer wrote on a post for his column The People's Insider

"Sources say Philadelphia has ongoing confidence in its ability to re-sign Grimes, but let's see. Ditto for the Bulls and Giddey coming to terms on the five-year pact that the Aussie playmaker is said to be seeking which is routinely projected to land at no less than $120 million."

Giddey clearly represents a key building block of the Bulls' perceived future plan, with the organisation trading two-time All-Defensive team selection Alex Caruso for the 22-year-old.

In the 19 games following the All-Star break, he averaged 21.2 points, 10.7 rebounds and 9.3 assists, fuelling the Bulls' unlikely run to the play-in game, where they fell to Miami.
