MLB trade rumors: Mets talking to at least six teams about Noah Syndergaard image

At least six teams are potential trade partners seeking Mets pitcher Noah Syndergaard as New York seriously considers dealing the right-hander with an eye on filling multiple holes, Fancred Sports reported Wednesday.

According to SNY, which cited unidentified sources, new Mets GM Brodie Van Wagenen already is exploring free-agent starters to replace Syndergaard.

Meanwhile, The Athletic reported that any deal for Syndergaard would need to be "pretty lopsided," meaning Mets COO Jeff Wilpon expects established MLB players more than prospects, which matches Fancred Sports' "fill multiple holes with real impact" assertion.

Syndergaard, 26, was 13-4 with a 3.03 ERA in 25 starts in 2018, striking out 155 in 154 1/3 innings. He's projected to make $5.9 million in 2019 via arbitration and isn't eligible for free agency until 2022.
