Ian Kinsler is heading to the Boston Red Sox after he was dealt by the Los Angeles Angels.

MLB World Series hopefuls the Red Sox acquired four-time All-Star infielder Kinsler from the Angels, the teams announced on Monday.

The Angeles received minor league pitchers Williams Jerez and Ty Buttrey in the deal with the Red Sox.

Kinsler – a Gold Glove Award winner in 2016 –  has registered a .239/.304/.406 slash line for the Angels this season. He has also hit 13 home runs and tallied 32 RBIs.

The 36-year-old spent his first eight MLB seasons with the Texas Rangers. He has also played for the Detroit Tigers during his 13-year MLB career.

The Red Sox finished Monday with an MLB best 75-33 record after edging the Philadelphia Phillies 2-1.
