You know what, Jon Lester? Just don't bother throwing over to first base with a runner on, if this is going to be the result:

Lester steadfastly refused to throw over late in his tenure in the American League; now he's trying to do it with the Cubs, and he's giving everyone a good idea why he resisted before.

Jorge Soler's rocket from right field bailed out Lester on this play, but that's not a viable long-term strategy. 

Lester received a no-decision Monday despite being charged with six runs on 10 hits over six innings against the Reds. Soler's two-run homer in the eighth took him off the hook. After two starts, Lester has a 7.84 ERA and 1.94 WHIP in 10 1/3 innings.
