It has been reported the 31-year-old was kicked out of The Sticky Wicket bar in Byron Bay but refused before a friend, reportedly Titans prop Ryan James, stepped in to get the Gold Coast forward to leave.

"Greg Bird was here on Friday night. He was asked to leave," a spokesman for the venue told The Courier Mail.

"The NRL integrity unit came in to see us and they are onto it.

"He was here on Friday night then had the Brunswick incident the next night.

"It was just Greg who was asked to leave. He never got served a drink because he was too intoxicated so the group weren’t here for very long."

The NRL integrity unit has said that this incident is the focus of their investigation.

Titans hierarchy are expected to receive a full report in the coming days, leaving Bird's future at the club up in the air.
