Hawthorn midfielder Liam Shiels has outsledged AFL personality Billy Brownless in response to a cheeky dig at Isaac Smith's missed after-the-siren shot in the qualifying final against Geelong.

Brownless originally posted a picture of himself and Smith on the Instagram with the caption: "There's only one difference!!!! I kicked it."

The caption is a reference to the former Geelong star's after-the-siren winner in the 1994 qualifying final against the Bulldogs.

Not content with his teammate getting sniped, Shiels pulled out the big guns to deflate Brownless.

"There is only 1 difference. We win flags," Shiels commented.
