In a huge upset on Thursday, Personal has taken out the VRC Oaks at Flemington despite unwavering support for favourite Montefilia.
The win was the first Group 1 victory for cousins Ben Hayes and Tom Dabernig as training partners, after veteran jockey Damien Oliver got the $6.50 shot over the line in the final 50 metres.
Montefilia was backed into $1.80 and looked every chance on the home straight, before it was run down by both the winner in Personal and roughie Salto Angel to finish third.

The win was Oliver's sixth Oaks victory and his 122nd Group 1.
"It's a huge thrill and I know Dad back in Hong Kong will be very excited," Hayes said after the race.
"We've been close with seconds in the Thousand Guineas and Caulfield Guineas, so this is a terrific result."
Oaks day continued on from the most unique Melbourne Cup day in recent memory, with no crowds again in attendance for Thursday's meet due to COVID-19.
The Melbourne Cup Carnival will officially wrap up on Saturday with the Mackinnon Stakes.
