One of the most highly-anticipated competitions in golf is finally upon us. The 106th edition of the PGA Championships tees off on Thursday, May 15 at the Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Xander Schauffele won his first Major at the PGA Championship last year, overcoming the likes of Bryson DeChambeau and Viktor Hovland. He is looking to become the first golfer to win back-to-back PGA Championship titles since Brooks Koepka in 2017 and 2018.

The Quail Hollow Club has hosted the PGA Championship previously in 2017 and is a regular stop in the PGA Tour where it has hosted many tournaments such as the Wachovia Championship, Quail Hollow Championship, and Wells Fargo Championship.

We at The Sporting News can't wait for the action to begin at Quail Hollow, and we're the best place to keep tabs on all the competitors, schedules and TV details at the PGA Championship: 2025 edition.

The first tee-off of this year's PGA Championship is set for 7:00 a.m. local time (ET) on Thursday, May 15, with Luke Donald, Padraig Harrington, and Martin Kaymer set to get the tournament underway.

Which players are competing at the PGA Championship?

The PGA Championship has multiple criteria for qualification including past winners, and recent Major winners (including the Masters, Open Championship, U.S. Open, and Players Championship). It will be a 156-player field at Quail Hollow this year.

Scauffele will have to overcome a lot of competition if he wants to win his second PGA Championship title. The playing field will include other top contenders such as World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, 2025 Masters winner Rory Mcllroy, Bryson DeChambeau, and Jon Rahm

Six Australian golfers are set to compete in the tournament, including Cameron Smith, Min Woo Lee, Elvis Smylie, Karl Vilips, Cameron Davis, and Adam Scott. 2015 PGA Championship winner Jason Day's participation remains in doubt due to an injury he's currently dealing with.
