Tiger Woods scorecard; Woods shoots under par in Masters 2022 first round image

After his first competitive round in 508 days, Tiger Woods is back at Augusta. Woods shot a 1-under-par 71 in the first round of the Masters on Thursday. He found himself three strokes behind early leader Cameron Smith, who shot a 4-under 68.

It was Woods' first professional round since the car accident he suffered last year, and it capped a wild two weeks of speculation leading up to him teeing it up. Woods playing as well as he did is impressive; he'll try to take that momentum into Friday's round.

What to expect from Tiger Woods moving forward

The Masters is a marathon, not a sprint, and Woods' endurance will be a question moving forward. He is still hobbled by his injuries, which will factor into whether he can remain consistent.
