Oscar Piastri has received the prestigious gong of the 2025 Lorenzo Bandini Trophy, an annual award honouring individuals for their achievements in F1 motor racing.
The 24-year-old rising star becomes the third Australian winner of the award, following Mark Webber in 2006 and Daniel Ricciardo in 2014.
The award was established in 1992 and named after Italian driver Lorenzo Bandini, who died three days after suffering terrible burns in a crash in the 1967 Monaco Grand Prix.
The trophy is not solely awarded on race results, rather, it takes into account elements such as the approach to races, the racer's character, and those who have shown "commendable performance during the season."
