Formula 1 is about to hit the big screens in the form of the highly anticipated F1: The Movie.

With seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton on board as a producer, the film is set to provide a cinematic glimpse into the world of racing.

Hollywood icon Brad Pitt notably stars in the Apple-backed feature, which also includes cameos from current F1 drivers.

F1 will be released in Australia on June 26, 2025.

How to watch F1 movie in Australia: Cinemas, venues

F1 will be available to watch at major cinemas across Australia, including Event Cinemas, Hoyts and Village Cinemas.

The film will also be shown at IMAX. Shot with IMAX-certified digital cameras, it is set to be presented in an exclusive 1.90:1 expanded aspect ratio.

Further, as an Apple Original Films-produced film, F1 will likely be listed on Apple TV in the future, although a date has not been confirmed.

F1 is rated 'M' in Australia, meaning it is advised that the content is not suitable for children under 15.

Initial reviews have been positive.

It has received an 87% score on Rotten Tomatoes (as of June 19), with users describing it as "thrilling", "well-executed" and "full of adrenaline".

F1 drivers, meanwhile, have had mixed reactions to the film. Williams driver Carlos Sainz said that "pure" fans should be "open-minded", suggesting that some creative liberties have been taken.

Brad Pitt headlines the F1 cast.

He will star alongside Damson Idris as the two primary driver subjects.

Kerry Condon and Javier Bardem also feature, while F1 drivers including Lewis Hamilton, Lando Norris and Max Verstappen all make appearances.
