When are Wrexham playing in Australia and New Zealand?

The 'Wrexham Down Under Tour' will see the Championship side take on three A-League Men's teams — first against Melbourne Victory, followed by Sydney FC and Wellington Phoenix.

"The summer tour to Australia and New Zealand promises to be the latest chapter in the amazing story of Wrexham Football Club," owners Reynolds and McElhenney said.

"Following our record-breaking hattrick of promotions, which will see us playing in the Championship next season, we felt it was time for a new challenge on our summer tour.

"So what better than playing three matches in Australia and New Zealand. It will be a great way for all our Wrexham fans down there to see the team and, anyway, we couldn’t resist signing off with a tag line so, Up The Town Down Under!"

Who are Wrexham's Hollywood owners?

Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney thrust the club into the spotlight after completing the purchase from the Wrexham Supporters Trust for £2 million.

Reynolds is best known for his starring roles in Deadpool, while McElhenney — an actor and producer — is best known for his role on the long-running sitcom 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia'.

Since their purchase of the club in 2021, the pair have invested heavily in the club, bringing in new players, upgrading the stadium as well as securing a host of new sponsors. The rise of Wrexham has had a huge impact on the local community and tourism, with visitor numbers growing 20 percent year-on-year.

Since the pair took over, the club is now reportedly worth £100 million.

The club gained worldwide attention thanks to their owners, who documented the process in the hugely-successful series 'Welcome To Wrexham', with Australia second behind the US and UK in terms of viewership.

"Our third biggest audience for Welcome to Wrexham is Australia,” McElhenney told Rolling Stone.

"Number one US, number two UK, number three is Australia, which I find fascinating. There is a lot of love for Wrexham.

Have Wrexham been promoted?

Wrexham will play next season in the Championship — the second tier of English football.

The Red Dragons earned their spot in the Championship after finishing second in League One behind Birmingham, making it an automatic promotion.

After consecutive promotions from the National League and League 2, the Welsh club are the first team ever from the top five divisions of English football to secure three consecutive promotions.
