It is time for the curtain-raiser for the 2025/26 English league season with the FA Community Shield final between Liverpool and Crystal Palace at Wembley Stadium on Sunday.

Crystal Palace are continuing to ride the high from their surprise FA Cup win last season with a final win against Manchester City. The Eagles have had the opportunity through a somewhat rigorous pre-season under Oliver Glasner.

The London-based side have played six friendlies in the buildup to the clash at Wembley Stadium, including two clashes each against Augsburg and Mainz.

Liverpool, on the other hand, have not had the easiest build-up to the start of the season following the tragic death of Diogo Jota just before the start of pre-season training. The Reds have planned to honour the Anfield favourite by maintaining top form throughout the year, and they will be hoping to kick off their 2025/26 season with a Community Shield title win.

The Premier League champions have shown form with somewhat of a new look side through pre-season, and their four wins in five pre-season friendlies have left them well prepared for the start of the season.

The Sporting News looks at the key details ahead of this game, including how to watch the match, kickoff times and the weekly schedule.
