The influx of stars to the Saudi Pro League is going to make the Golden Boot race a compelling watch throughout the 2023/24 season.

Al Ahli's new arrival, ex-Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino, started strong with a hat-trick in his first league match for his club, and he was matched by 26-year-old Brazilian compatriot Malcom, who also hit for three goals for Al Hilal. While Firmino sat out his team's second match due to injury, Malcom is due to play on Saturday.

The two Brazilians are still in the top spots in these early days of the season, but the challengers are coming.

Robin Quaison has two goals in two games for Steven Gerrard's Al Ettifaq, while Cristian Tello had a breakout match for Al Fateh with a brace. Igor Coronado will look to add to his two goals on Saturday with Al Ittihad.

The Sporting News will be following the 2023/24 Saudi Pro League campaign and tracking the top scorers, with assists serving as the first tiebreaker, and fewest minutes played the second tiebreaker, as per FIFA's major international tournaments.
