Ousmane Dembele reveals silent pact with La Liga star amidst Ballon d'Or bid image

PSG’s Ousmane Dembele has broken his silence on the unspoken understanding he shares with longtime friend and French teammate Kylian Mbappe in the backdrop of football’s highest individual honor, the Ballon d’Or.

In an interview with France Football (via Le10Sport), Dembele admitted that despite being contenders for the award alongside teenage sensation Lamine Yamal, he and Mbappe avoid the topic entirely.

“We haven’t talked about it; we don’t joke around about that,” said Dembele.

“With Kylian, we’ve always said that winning team trophies is the most important thing if you want to win the Ballon d’Or.”

The French winger scored 33 goals across all competitions, which is his best season ever, and that is more than he managed in the last five seasons combined.

His red-hot form powered PSG to four trophies, including their first Champions League title.

Dembele and Mbappe share a quiet commitment.

Dembele remains clear that his and Mbappe focus remains collective, not individual.

“The key is to go all the way in the big competitions and have a great season. If you do that, you have a chance to be crowned. That’s what we’re focused on, nothing more.”

Meanwhile, 17-year-old Lamine Yamal has impressed in Spain with a domestic treble for Barcelona, emerging as the youngest contender in decades.

But Dembele’s Champions League win and sheer numbers have positioned him slightly ahead in the race.
