The Matildas’ dream run at the Women’s World Cup unfortunately came to a crushing end at the hands of the Lionesses, before they also lost to Sweden in the third-place playoff match.
However, Australia’s campaign was still deemed a success after capturing the public’s imagination on their way to recording record TV viewership numbers during their journey to the semifinal stage.

When is the Matildas' next match?
The Matildas' next match will be against Iran on Thursday, October 26 at Perth Rectangular Stadium.
It will mark the start of a three-match run in Western Australia where they will also play against the Philippines and Chinese Taipei in second-round qualifiers for the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
