French giants Paris Saint-Germain will do battle with Bundesliga heavyweights Bayern Munich during the Round of 16 in this season's Champions League.

The tie of the round will pit together some of the world's best and well-known footballers in a repeat of the 2019/20 final, which saw Bayern win 1-0 in Lisbon thanks to a Kingsley Coman strike.

One of those players on show this time around will be PSG's Kylian Mbappe, one of the best footballers on the planet and twice a World Cup finalist.

But what does Mbappe's success rate look like in the Champions League?

Has Kylian Mbappe ever won the Champions League?

Despite already picking up 12 club trophies throughout his career to date, the Champions League remains elusive for Mbappe.

The 24-year-old got closest to winning the prestigious club competition back in 2019/20 when his PSG side were beaten 1-0 by Bayern Munich in the final.

He also enjoyed a run to the semifinal stage with old side Monaco back in 2016/17 before they were knocked out by Italian giants Juventus 4-1 on aggregate.

Even though he hasn't won the Champions League, he has taken many individual awards in the competition.

His form in the tournament helped him make an appearance in the UEFA Team of the Year in 2018, whilst he's featured in the Champions League Team of the Season once and Squad of the Season three times.

How many Champions League goals has Mbappe scored?

Arguably standing out at the best player of his generation, Mbappe has shone in the Champions League throughout his career.

First bursting onto the scene with Monaco in 2016/17, the France international struck six goals in nine competition appearances with all six coming throughout the knockout rounds against Manchester City, Borussia Dortmund and Juventus.

His goalscoring return has remained phenomenal ever since his big-money move to PSG the following year.

Ahead of his side's last-16 clash with Bayern Munich this month, Mbappe has netted 40 goals in just 59 Champions League appearances, giving him a goal-per-game ratio of a 0.68, which is one of the strongest in the tournament's history.
