Chelsea could be on the verge of selling one of their fringe players very quickly to a Premier League rival, as Wolverhampton Wanderers are eyeing up a move for Axel Disasi.
The two clubs have a good history of doing business together, with Pedro Neto being the last player who swapped Molineux for Stamford Bridge.
Meanwhile, after making a whole host of signings so far in the transfer window, the Blues now seem to have turned their attention to selling some players who are not part of Enzo Maresca’s project.
Having sold high-profile players in Joao Felix and Noni Madueke, Maresca is trying to clear out the deadwood from his squad ahead of the new Premier League season.
Axel Disasi is a player who Maresca does not see as an integral part of his squad, and he spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa.
However, the Villans did not want to sign the player permanently, so he now finds himself back at Stamford Bridge.

Why a move to Wolves makes sense for Axel Disasi
But it looks as though Disasi’s days at Chelsea are numbered as Wolves have emerged as potential suitor for the French defender.
Journalist Simon Philips claimed via Substack that Wolves have made a ‘late drive’ for a potential move to sign Disasi this summer.

Additionally, Philips also revealed that Chelsea remain confident of selling Disasi and are trying to get it wrapped up ‘very soon’.
Since Disasi has failed to nail down a spot in Enzo Maresca’s starting eleven, a move to Wolves may not be a bad idea for the defender.
Under Vitor Pareira, Disasi is more likely to find game time and a chance to resurrect his faltering career.
