Jamie Gittens is the latest young English player to have flourished in the Borussia Dortmund first team.

Having followed the likes of Jadon Sancho and Jude Bellingham by moving to Signal Iduna Park to give his senior career a springboard, Gittens has since secured a return to the Premier League with Chelsea.

The Blues completed the signing of the 20-year-old once the transfer window reopened for a brief period prior to the start of the Club World Cup knockout phase

Here is what you need to know about Gittens after his move to Stamford Bridge.

Jamie Gittens to Chelsea: Transfer fee, contract

What is Jamie Gittens' shirt number?

Gittens does not yet have a confirmed Chelsea shirt number. He wore the No. 43 jersey at Dortmund. Currently, that number is vacant at the Blues.

What is Jamie Gittens' style of play and best position?

Gittens is a winger. He primarily plays on the left, from where he can cut in on his right foot, but he played on both flanks for Dortmund, as well as occasionally as a No. 10 or centre-forward.

At Chelsea, however, Gittens will predominantly compete for playing time against Pedro Neto, Joao Pedro and Noni Madueke, with Cole Palmer the starting No. 10 and Liam Delap signed to challenge Nicolas Jackson for the No. 9 role.
