Following the signing of Liam Delap from Ipswich Town, Chelsea are set to announce the arrivals of Jamie Gittens and Joao Pedro from Borussia Dortmund and Brighton and Hove Albion, respectively.

The duo has cost Chelsea a combined fee of over £100million, as Enzo Maresca continues to add attacking talent to his side.

However, with the arrival of these new players, the Blues will now have to let go of some of their existing players, not only to balance the books but also to make space in the squad for them.

According to a report by Football Insider, Christopher Nkunku is one of the first players expected to leave Stamford Bridge this summer despite scoring for Chelsea in the ongoing Club World Cup.

The Frenchman has failed to nail down a spot in the Blues' starting lineup despite being given ample opportunities by manager Enzo Maresca.

Nkunku has also managed to score 15 goals in 45 appearances for Chelsea, but seems to be set to walk through the door at Stamford Bridge in the ongoing transfer window.

Will Nkunku be the only player leaving Chelsea this summer?

The report also states that Nkunku won’t be the only one leaving Chelsea this summer, as a whole host of players who are deemed surplus to requirements are set to be on the move as well.

Since Nkunku’s departure is all but confirmed, the only thing that remains to be seen is where the player goes.

He has been linked with a move to Manchester United in the recent past, but a move to Old Trafford seems unlikely for now.

Since the player has shown enough calibre to warrant staying in the Premier League, it won’t be surprising if another Premier League club jumps at the opportunity to sign him up.
