After an exciting couple of days of group-stage action, we came back to earth with the round two matches.

Germany had a stunning upset over England, but most of the other games weren't all too competitive.

We got to see some great underdogs prevail, but nothing compared to the final between Wales and Northern Ireland.

Josh Rock dominates as Northern Ireland wins final in last-leg decider

It took all 19 legs in the final to determine a winner of the 2025 World Cup of Darts.

England were talked to be the clear favorite coming into the tournament, but Wales took over as the favorites once they were eliminated.

Northern Ireland had something else to say about that, with Josh Rock and Daryl Gurney complimenting each other very well all weekend long.

Rock provided the scoring in the final, averaging 107.88 individually.

Rock struggled on the doubles and Gurney couldn't provide as much scoring, but Gurney was elite on doubles, going 8/10 (80%).

It was truly an incredible final that was up there as one of the best darting moments in recent PDC history.

Wales deserves a lot of credit for the effort they put in but just seemed to underperform to the standard that Northern Ireland had set.

The tournament was more than just a Northern Ireland win and an England early elimination as the highlights.

Countries from the Asia region continued to show that they have some seriously talented players who could be on tour one day.

Players like Josh Rock and Gian van Veen of the Netherlands showed on the big stage that they could be the future of darts, taking over for some of the PDC's former champions like Gary Anderson and Peter Wright.

The next major tournament is the World Matchplay which takes place in mid-July, but in two weekends, the U.S. Darts Masters will start on Jun. 27.
