After an incredible victory in Barbados, Australia is looking to seal the Test series against the West Indies when they visit the National Cricket Stadium on Thursday.

The West Indies would not be happy with how things unfolded in the first Test match in Barbados, leading to their 159-run defeat against Australia. Jayden Seales and Shamar Joseph were the star performers from the side with 6 and 9 wickets across both innings, but it was their batters who disappointed the most and failed to score even a single half-century across both innings. Roston Chase and the team need a win in the second Test to keep themselves alive in the series.

Meanwhile, Australia rolled over the West Indies side to clinch a comfortable victory in the first Test match and went 1-0 up in a three-match series. With a not settled lineup, the Aussies were seen struggling during their first innings outing, but it was Travis Head (59 and 61) and Josh Hazlewood (5 for 43 in the 2nd innings) who played a key role in the win. A win here will mark Pat Cummins's side's first series victory of the new World Test Championship (2025-27) cycle.

The Sporting News looks at the key details ahead of this game, including how to watch the match, start times, and the latest lineup news.

West Indies vs. Australia 2nd Test predicted XIs, team news

After a dramatic loss to Australia in the first Test match in Barbados, the West Indies team would be itching to bounce back in the second Test and level the series. Veteran batters including Kraigg Braithwaite and John Campbell had a disappointing outing, whereas the debutant Brandon King failed to impress on his debut match.

It was captain Roston Chase and wicketkeeper batter Shai Hope who scored respective 44 and 48 scores in the first innings but fell to just 2 runs each in the second match. These two batters carry the middle-order batting responsibilities; West Indies will need their contributions in the second match.

It was Jayden Seales and Shamar Joseph who wreaked havoc on the Australian batting lineup, taking 15 wickets total out of 20 across both innings. Shamar Joseph, who has been a threat to the Aussies, has now extended his wickets tally to 22 wickets in just 6 innings at a bowling strike of a wicket once every 23.5 balls on average.

Jomel Warrican played the Barbados Test match as the sole spinner, where he didn't get to bowl in the first innings and remained wicketless during his 8-over bowling spell in the second innings but he will retain his place in the lineup for the second Test match.

West Indies predicted XI: Kraigg Brathwaite, Shai Hope (wk), John Campbell, Keacy Carty, Justin Greaves, Roston Chase (c), Jomel Warrican, Alzarri Joseph, Jayden Seales, Shamar Joseph.

Following the WTC 2025 final loss, Australia made three fresh changes to their top-order batting, adding youngster Sam Konstas in the opening slot, Cameron Green at number three, and Josh Inglis at number four.

Konstas joined veteran Usman Khawaja at the top of the order in the first Test but had a disappointing outing across both innings. Management has shown faith in him for this tour, and he will likely be playing all three matches on this tour. Cameron Green, who has already been struggling with his off-side defense lately, has been promised to be given a long rope.

Josh Inglis, who wasn't very impressive in Barbados, is likely to make way for Steve Smith in the second match. Smith, who was ruled out from the opening match due to a dislocated finger, is set to feature in the second match, but he is unlikely to be standing at slips for catching, as stated by the head coach, McDonald.

Beau Webster, who contributed with a half-century in the second innings and two wickets in the match, will remain a pillar for the Australian lower order.

The trio of Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, and Pat Cummins blew away the hosts batting unit in Barbados; they will continue doing their job once again in Grenada. Nathan Lyon will retain his place in the lineup and continue to feature as the sole spinner for the team.

Australia predicted XI: Usman Khawaja, Sam Konstas, Cameron Green, Steve Smith, Travis Head, Beau Webster, Alex Carey (wk), Pat Cummins (c), Mitchell Starc, Nathan Lyon, Josh Hazlewood.
