All eyes will be at The Oval when the series-deciding fifth and last Test match of the series will be played between England and India on Thursday.

England's hope of winning the Test series was halted with a draw at the Old Trafford on the fifth day. Skipper Ben Stokes (6 wickets and 141 runs in the match) and Joe Root (150 in the first innings) were the star performers from the team.

The hosts were only able to take two wickets on the final day and a total of four wickets in India's second innings, even though Chris Woakes took two wickets in the first over itself.

India, meanwhile, played more than five sessions to overturn England's 311-run deficit and pulled off a miraculous draw in the fourth Test match at the Old Trafford. India were 0 for 2 in their second innings, with Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sai Sudharsan getting dismissed on ducks.

KL Rahul (90) and skipper Shubman Gill (103) stitched a 188-run partnership for the third wicket to give India a much-needed hope for the draw. Then a match-saving 203-run partnership between all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja (unbeaten 107) and Washington Sundar (unbeaten 101) helped the team to seal a draw.

The Sporting News looks at the key details ahead of this game, including how to watch the match, kickoff times, and the latest lineup news.

England vs. India 5th Test predicted XIs, team news

England doesn't have fresh injury concerns going into the last match, but their bowling unit needs a fresh rotation, as stated by skipper Ben Stokes himself. Stokes, who has been a major contributor in England's bowling unit, was seen struggling with his right shoulder during the fourth Test match. Stokes not only took his first five-wicket haul in 8 years but also scored his first Test ton after a two-year gap. Stokes didn't bowl much on the final day, keeping the precautionary measures on top for the final match. Now England have also announced that their captain won't be playing the final match of the series.

Liam Dawson was recalled for his Test return after an 8-year gap, but he was unsuccessful in delivering the expected performance, but he will retain his place in the final Test match as the frontline spinner. He scored 26 runs and took one wicket in India's first innings and went wicketless in the second.

England has recalled their all-rounder Jamie Overton for the final Test match; the return of the Surrey all-rounder is the only change the hosts have made from the Old Trafford squad. Overton joins the hands of seamers Gus Atkinson and Josh Tongue in the 15-member squad available for the final Test match, all three pushing for a start in the final lineup. Tongue featured in the first two matches, while Atkinson has not featured in any Test match since playing against Zimbabwe in May this year due to an injury.

Both Chris Woakes and Brydon Carse have played all four Test matches so far in the series, while Jofra Archer has featured in the 3rd and 4th Test matches consecutively.

England predicted XI: Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope (c), Joe Root, Harry Brook, Jacob Bethell, Jamie Smith (wk), Chris Woakes, Gus Atkinson, Jamie Overton, Josh Tongue

As for India, they need a win at any cost for a favorable result in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. The visitors are facing a major selection dilemma for the final and series-deciding test match. They will be without their star wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant for the fifth Test due to a fractured right foot. Tamil Nadu's N. Jagadeesan had been added as a replacement to the squad. But it is obvious that Dhruv Jurel, who has been waiting for his turn on this tour, will get a start in the final match.

Spin all-rounder duo Washington Sundar and Ravindra Jadeja delivered their best to seal a draw for the team. They are confirmed to retain their places for the Oval Test match, but Shardul Thakur, who failed to deliver yet another impressive mark, can make way for Kuldeep Yadav

On the bowling front, Jasprit Bumrah, who has featured in the last two Test matches, has been advised by the BCCI's medical team to take rest, keeping his back and long-term availability in mind. If Bumrah misses out, Akash Deep is likely to replace him in the starting XI. Anshul Kamboj, who debuted for the team in Manchester, had a poor outing on his Test debut, picking up just a single wicket in his 18-over spell. Arshdeep Singh, who brings a left-arm option and bowls quicker than Kamboj, can be an ideal option for the team for the last match.

India predicted XI: Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Sai Sudharsan, Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav, Shubman Gill (c), Dhruv Jurel (wk), Ravindra Jadeja, Akash Deep, Arshdeep Singh, Mohammed Siraj.
