Pat Cummins says he views Cameron Green as a "long-term option" at No. 3 for Australia.
The Test skipper confirmed his nation's top order with reporters ahead of their first Test with the West Indies.
Sam Konstas, alongside the experienced Usman Khawaja, will open for Australia for the first time since January.
Despite an underwhelming performance in the World Test Championship, Green will remain at third in the order.

The 26-year-old scored four runs off five balls across two innings at Lord's.
However, he has been backed in Bridgetown – and for the future – amid Marnus Labuschagne's exit from the XI.
"We see that [Green at No. 3] as a long-term option," Cummins told reporters.
"He’s hitting the ball really well. He’s moving really well.
"He had a Test match where it obviously didn’t go to plan. The message is not to look too much into that.
"We’re really happy with where his game is placed.
"I dare say he’ll get a decent run at No. 3."

With Steve Smith recovering from a finger injury, Josh Inglis has been given the nod at No. 4.
Travis Head, Beau Webster and Alex Carey make up the middle order.
Australia have stuck with one spinner in Nathan Lyon, while Cummins, Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood form a fast-bowling trio.
The three-match Test series with the West Indies will begin in the early hours of Thursday, June 26 (AEST).
Australia have held the Frank Worrell Trophy since 1995.
