A former amateur champion who has worked with the likes of Jeff Horn, Paro (25-1) beat Subriel Matias last June to win the IBF super lightweight title. His rise to the top did not last long, as he lost the belt against Richardson Hitchins in December.
Signing a one-fight deal with No Limit Boxing, Paro wants to hold gold again. Fighting at home for the first time since 2022, the 29-year-old is taking it one step at a time.
“The intention is we move on; we dust ourselves off; we go again; get another belt,” Paro told BoxingScene. “Hitchins has already said in previous interviews that he believes he’ll see me in a unification in the future. That’s what we’re doing.
“Until I’ve got some more pulling power… I’ll avenge that loss eventually. I know I’m very definitely capable of doing so.”
Navarro (18-1) is 1-1 in his last two fights, as the American fought twice in 2024 after about a five-year layoff. “Thunder” has won nine contests via knockout.
