Gout Gout has secured the latest victory in his young career.
Making his first Diamond League appearance, the Australian took out the under-23 200 metre race in Monaco by a comfortable margin.
He recorded a time of 20.10 seconds – 0.08 seconds off the Australian record he set in Ostrava last month.
Gout had to contend with a strong headwind (1.9 m/s) in the principality, which likely cost him a personal best.

The 17-year-old finished ahead of Botswana's Busang Collen Kebinatshipi (20.28) and South Africa's Naeem Jack (20.42).
"Today was just getting really relaxed and just focusing on what I have been doing in training, and that is what I did, and I got a win," Gout said.
"It was into a negative headwind, so that was pretty unlucky, but I was just practising what I do in training and trying to execute."
While Gout was competing at a Diamond League meet for the first time, the under-23 event he competed in was not recognised as an official Diamond League event.
His two-leg European trip – which saw him compete in Czechia and Monaco – has been squeezed in during his winter school holidays.
The Ipswich Grammar School student is in Year 12 and is set to race full-time upon graduation.
