Sam Darcy in the NBA? Dyson Daniels reveals what type of baller the AFL star would be image

Western Bulldogs superstar Sam Darcy would be a 'Kristaps Porzingis-type player' if he was in the NBA, according to Australia's Atlanta gun Dyson Daniels.

The NBA star and Darcy crossed paths when they played Australian Rules together in the under-12 School Sport Victoria competition in 2015.

Incredibly, that particular team produced 10 current AFL players and Daniels, with the Australian Rules talent featuring Blake Howes (Melbourne), Campbell Chesser (West Coast), Connor MacDonald (Hawthorn), Dante Visentini (Port Adelaide), Sam Darcy (Bulldogs), Massimo D'Ambrosio (Hawthorn), Finn Callaghan (GWS), Ben Hobbs (Essendon), Dyson Daniels (Atlanta - NBA), Josh Ward (Hawthorn) and Anthony Caminiti (St Kilda).

While Darcy chose to continue on with his AFL career instead of exploring basketball, Daniels revealed what type of NBA player he thought the Western Bulldogs star would be.

Daniels stands at 201cm (6'7"), while Darcy is significantly taller at 208cm (6'10").

"Nowadays it’s versatile. We got six foot nine point guards. But, I mean, he (Darcy) could play centre, point guard, whatever - we might be able to stretch the floor'," Daniels said on AFL 360.

"So he might be, you know, a (new teammate Kristaps) Porzingis-type player.

"We played under-12 SSV (School Sport Victoria) footy together. So obviously Sam back there, known him for a while, obviously come through the ranks, and look what he’s doing now on the big stage. So it’s good to see him killing it."
