Controversial Western Bulldogs talent Jamarra Ugle-Hagan has opened up about the 'traumatising' shooting he was caught up in last weekend.

The non-fatal shooting occurred on Sunday morning outside of Prahran nightclub Love Machine during an incident between two groups of people.

Ugle-Hagan revealed he was getting into a rideshare when the shots happened close to him outside the Prahran venue.

He also denied any involvement in the shooting and said police were treating him as a witness to the alleged crime.

“It was that close to me, I’m lucky I wasn’t hit,” Ugle-Hagan told the Herald Sun.

“I wasn’t involved with anything, as the police know. There was 20 people around me and probably another 100 at the venue, but my name is being mentioned like I have some kind of part in it.

“I’m linked just by being there. It’s trial by media. It is out of my control.

“It is traumatising and no one should be near or see any of that.”

Ugle-Hagan also admitted it wasn't ideal that he was the venue at that time of morning, but the incident "definitely takes a massive toll on my anxiety and stress".

The former no.1 draft hasn't played a game at any level in 2025 due to a variety of personal issues, with the key forward also only sporadically attending training.

He has been linked with a move away from the Bulldogs - with Sydney suggested as a team to offer the former no.1 draft pick a fresh start.
