'What incident?': Bulldogs coach denies controversy following Kane Cornes clash image

Western Bulldogs coach Luke Beveridge has played down a pre-game run in with AFL media personality Kane Cornes, following his side's loss to Geelong.

The 2016 premiership coach was seen exchanging words with the two-time All Australian and current analyst, in a run-in in the lead up to the Thursday night clash.

But Beveridge denied the significance of the interaction, while Cornes claimed that it was something to 'have a bit of a laugh about'.

Bulldogs coach denies controversy following Kane Cornes clash

Luke Beveridge has claimed that there was no controversy behind his pre-game conversation with Kane Cornes, despite what appeared to be a tense meeting between the two.

"What incident?" asked Beveridge, when the interaction was brought up during the post-game press conference.

"Ultimately, when we come in here and we talk about the game, I think that's probably all we're after, isn't it?

"If you're trying to drum up any controversy, I don't think there was any.

"I know what you're trying to do, you're not going to get me to bite."

Cornes however was more willing to address the situation, claiming he copped a spray from the Bulldogs' coach for what he believes was Beveridge taking issue with the way the Channel 7 media personality has covered his team.

"I looked back and I just said, 'Bevo', and nodded my head," Cornes said on SEN Friday morning.

"The reaction was the reaction that you saw. I don’t know if it’s for me to share what he said. I’m happy to tell you exactly my part in this. other than to say 'Bevo', and nodded my head, it wasn’t received well.

"It was something along the lines of, 'You’ve got the nerve to say that', and I just said, 'What, I can’t say hello?'. Then he turned around again and started to go again and that’s when he was dragged away."

Ultimately it was a disappointing night for Beveridge and his squad, who lost by 14 points to Geelong.
