Amid the sagas involving the likes of Tom De Koning and Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera, an even bigger player doesn't have their future locked in - Port Adelaide star Zak Butters.
As the Power's season tumbles to a possible bottom-four finish, nervous club officials and supporters still don't know whether Victorian-born Butters will stay at Alberton past his 2026 contract expiry.
However, a recent report suggests Butters has made up his mind about his plans for the end of this season, but is still unsure about he wants do long-term.
According to Fox Footy, the 24-year-old has decided he won't attempt to leave Port Adelaide in the upcoming trade period, but he could still return to Victoria at the completion of next season.

It's understood the Power have essentially given Butters a blank cheque to write his own salary, such is their desperation to keep the midfield star, who is a two-time All Australian and has finished third and fourth in the Brownlow the last two seasons.
But success in Port Adelaide's future is a tough sell at the moment with the club seemingly missing their chance to win a premiership and appearing destined to finish in the lower reaches of the AFL ladder.
Long-time coach Ken Hinkley is handing the reins over to assistant Josh Carr in a succession plan, but does that mean the Power will need to undergo a rebuild and makeover under a new tactician?
If Butters feels his chance to win an AFL premiership is better elsewhere, he will have no shortage of suitors with Western Bulldogs and Geelong showing the most early interest.
With Butters unlikely to make a decision about his future until 2026, expect the noise surrounding him to increase as time goes by.
