Port Adelaide's Sam Powell-Pepper looks set to be sidelined long term after he suffered a ruptured ACL in his side's loss to Brisbane on Saturday night.

The 27-year-old went down in the third quarter of the 28-point defeat at the Gabba, with scans reportedly confirming the devastating news.

Powell-Pepper played just three senior games in 2024 after suffering the same injury, with this season's campaign now ended on 15 appearances.

The hard-nosed midfield/forward is contracted through to the end of 2029 with the Power.

A typical nine-month recovery timeline means Powell-Pepper will likely miss the start of next season.

Originally selected with pick 18 in the 2016 Draft, the Western Australian has gone on to play 158 senior games with Port Adelaide, booting 124 goals.
