Dyson Sharp has capped off a brilliant national carnival by taking out the 2025 Larke Medal and being named captain of the Under-18 Boys All-Australian Team, after steering South Australia to its first national title since 2018.
The classy on-baller polled 18 votes across the Marsh AFL National Under-18 Championships, edging out Allies midfielder Dan Annable and Vic Metro’s Ollie Greeves (both on 17), to be crowned the tournament’s best player.
His consistency and leadership were central to South Australia’s undefeated run.

Seven South Australians earn All-Australian nods
Sharp was one of seven players from the championship-winning squad to be named in the All-Australian side, slotting into the centre of the ground alongside fellow South Australians Harley Barker and Matt LeRay.
Sam Ainsworth, Sam Cumming, Aidan Schubert and Mitch Marsh also earned selection, underlining the state’s depth across all lines.
Vic Country contributed five players, including Carlton father-son prospect Harry Dean and exciting utility Willem Duursma. Vic Metro’s Cooper Duff-Tytler, widely considered a top-three draft chance, was named at centre half-forward.
There was no selection from the bottom-aged 2026 class this year, and no repeat All-Australians. South Australia’s coach Tony Bamford was named coach of the All-Australian side following his team’s undefeated championship campaign.
