West Coast prodigy Harley Reid is in concussion protocols after suffering a head knock at pre-season training.

It's the first known concussion suffered by the 19-year-old in his AFL career since being drafted with pick one in the 2023 National Draft.

Reid played 19 games in his first AFL season but ended up ineligible for the Rising Star after being suspended.

AFL NEWS:

"Harley received a minor head knock during training and we took precautionary measures," West Coast general manager football Gavin Bell said.

"I've spoken to him today and so has the club doctor.

"He is doing well, but as he has entered the AFL concussion protocols he will be in non-contact training when he resumes next week."
