The Geelong Cats are set to face off against the Western Bulldogs on Thursday afternoon in Round 11 of the 2025 Australian Football League (AFL) season at the GMHBA Stadium.
The Cats had a slow start to their home-and-away season as they took just one win in the opening three rounds before they patched together a run of three straight wins that put them in the top eight on the ladder.
Geelong's run of wins was crashed by Carlton in Round 7 as they flopped to an 18-point loss. They have since managed two wins in their next three games, with the victories coming on either side of their loss to the Giants in Round 9. Last weekend, they took a massive 115-39 win over Port Adelaide, which has seen them maintain seventh on the ladder.
Despite taking three losses in their opening five games, the Bulldogs have recovered well as they went on a three-game winning run to elevate themselves into the top eight on the ladder after the conclusion of Round 8.
They then suffered a disappointing 106-96 loss to the Gold Coast Suns in Round 9 before taking a well-deserved 127-36 win over Essendon last weekend, which has catapulted them back into fifth on the ladder as they look to keep close to the leading pack of Collingwood and the Brisbane Lions.
