The Brisbane Lions and Melbourne (Naarm) are set to face off on Sunday afternoon in Round 10 of the 2025 Australian Football League (AFL) season at the Gabba in Brisbane.
The Lions, the 2024 Premiers, had a spectacular start to their 2025 home-and-away season as they stayed at the top of the ladder with five wins in as many games before suffering their first loss against Collingwood.
However, the loss against their challengers for this season's top spot did not startle them as they went on to take two more wins and return to the top of the ladder.
Last weekend, they faced a surprise 71-71 draw against North Melbourne despite boasting a 20-point lead at the end of the second quarter. However, they still remain atop the ladder with Collingwood having taken a Round 8 loss.
Melbourne (Naarm) had a horrendous start to their season as they suffered five straight defeats to kick off the campaign. The streak of defeats saw them pad the bottom of the AFL ladder at the end of Round 5.
However, they bounced back in immense fashion as Simon Goodwin's side went on a run of three victories on the back of their first win of the season. They then suffered their first loss in three weeks as they lost to the Hawthorn Hawks.
