St Kilda supporters should be starting to feel a 'bit more confident' about securing the signature of Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera, according to Eddie McGuire.

The Saints gun is out-of-contract at the end of the season and is deciding on whether staying at Moorabbin or moving back home to South Australia with either Port Adelaide or Adelaide.

Just prior to an interview with St Kilda coach Ross Lyon on Footy Classified, McGuire dropped some news that will be pleasing for Saints fans.

"My mail today is that if you're a St Kilda fan you would be feeling a bit more confident [about the re-signing of Wanganeen-Milera] as we get to the end of the season," McGuire said.

However, Lyon didn't provide any progress on the club's pursuit of Wanganeen-Milera's signature, insisting that he wasn't personally involved in contract discussions at the moment.

"I was in early...not negotiations with Nas (Wanganeen-Milera) but I was a plank and connection but I thought that's dangerous ground," Lyon revealed.

"So I really stepped away and just coached Nas, support Nas."

Lyon also chose to directly address a report from Essendon icon Tim Watson which denying St Kilda have offered Harley Reid a $25 million contract over 12 years.

"I’ve never spoken to Harley Reid in my life," Lyon said.

"I do love Tim (Watson), but he got this one wrong.

"Clearly they (West Coast) think there’s something out in the ether that’s getting in their way (of re-signing Reid). Well it certainly isn’t me."

St Kilda and Wanganeen-Milera will be in action once again on Friday night against Essendon at Marvel Stadium.
