St Kilda are considering drafting SANFL Magarey Medallist Harry Boyd as a support ruckman for Rowan Marshall.

The Saints are light on ruck backup for Marshall, with Tom Campbell and Jack Hayes departing the club recently - leaving Max Heath as the only other recognised ruckman.

With the club on the hunt for a big man, the Herald Sun reports the 198cm Boyd has done a medical at Moorabbin and met coach Ross Lyon.

AFL TRADE AND DRAFT NEWS:

Boyd, who plays for Norwood in the SANFL, shared the Magarey Medal with ex-Essendon utility Will Snelling, averaging 41 hitouts, 21 disposals and 10 clearances a match across the 2024 season.

St Kilda's search for a ruckman has seen them previously linked with WAFL ruckman Lachlan Blakiston.

The 26-year-old, standing at 204cm, has been one of the dominant ruckman in the WAFL for East Fremantle averaging 16 disposals and 33 hitouts a match in 2024.
