St Kilda coach Ross Lyon has promised the Saints will become a destination club using methods applied by Geelong.

The Cats have used club sponsorships to support players and staff recently, namely Cotton On ambassador Bailey Smith and coach Chris Scott's role at Morris Finance.

Speaking at the launch of St Kilda's new club crest, Lyon vowed the Saints will turn to its major sponsors to help attract players - name-dropping Geelong as a club who uses this measure.

“Everything we are doing on and off the field with the support of our major sponsors and our private guys are leaning in to create opportunities, like Cotton On do for Geelong,” Lyon said.

AFL DRAFT NEWS:

“They help the partners, they help the families on and off the field. We are looking to do that with all our support and I can guarantee you we will become more of a destination club.”

The Saints have been linked to 2025 free agency moves for North Melbourne star Luke Davies-Uniacke and Fremantle gun Andrew Brayshaw, although both have indicated an initial desire to remain at their current clubs.

In recent years, St Kilda has lost best 22 players Josh Battle (Hawthorn) and Jade Gresham (Essendon) as part of the AFL's free agency.
