Hawthorn star Jack Ginnivan and Hawks supporters have mocked Port Adelaide coach Ken Hinkley during their 38-point win on Saturday.

At a wet UTAS Stadium in Launceston, the Hawks beat the Power (13.9) 87 to (7.7) 49.

Hawk star Dylan Moore gathered 32 disposals and two goals while former Port player, now Hawk Jarman Impey, collected 26 disposals and kicked three goals and two behinds.

With a renewed rivalry due to Ken Hinkley's aeroplane taunt directed at Ginnivan after his team beat them in the semi-final last year, the Hawks had the last laugh today.

The taunt was directed towards Ginnivan after he made a post saying they would play Sydney in a preliminary final, assuming they would just beat Port Adelaide in the semi-final.

Hinkley apologised for the taunt, but it was costly with the AFL fining the Power $20,000 for the incident due to “conduct unbecoming’.

Ginnivan returned the serve today, as he used the famous aeroplane celebration in the last quarter of the game, after his goal well and truly put the game beyond reach for the South Australian team.

Hinkley smiled at Ginnivan’s goal celebration when it happened and addressed it in his post-match press conference, explaining it was probably deserved.

“Payback’s a… I was going to say something else. Payback’s deserved,” Hinkley said.

“I have no problems with it… good for the game and theatre of the game and good on Jack… I won’t be one that sits here and (does) anything but acknowledge that it was my turn today.”

Hawk fans also gave Hinkley the celebration after he walked past them after the final siren had gone.

Port Adelaide looks in doubt for a finals appearance in Hinkley's final season as coach, as they sit in 11th spot with eight wins and 10 losses.

Hawthorn look prime for September action as they sit in fourth place on 12 wins and six losses with games still to go in the round.
