GWS are worried about losing talented defender Leek Aleer with St Kilda believed to be favourite to secure the player for 2026.
A recent report from Tom Morris suggested it was 'almost inevitable' that Aleer would join the Saints, with an extra $2.2 million offered across their contract to the Giants offer.
When asked about Aleer's future after GWS' win against Essendon, coach Adam Kingsley didn't sound confident the player would stay in Sydney
He also suggested that if Aleer left the club, it would be simply for money.

“Yeah, a little bit (worried), we think he’s going to be an extremely good player for a long period of time,” Kingsley said.
“He’s only a young fella, he’s so versatile, can play tall, can play small.
“We’re a little bit worried, but all we can do is put a contract in front of him and convince him that the Giants is the place for him to be.
“He loves being at the footy club, but it won’t be a decision around whether he enjoys his time here or not.”
Aleer, 24, has only played 20 games, but has featured in the last eight matches consecutively with Sam Taylor having injury issues and Harry Himmelberg moving up to the wing.
