Brody Mihocek is reportedly holding off on signing a one-year extension at Collingwood, with rival clubs now circling in hope of prising him away with a longer-term offer.
According to journalist Jon Ralph from the Herald Sun, the 31-year-old forward has yet to accept a short-term deal from the Magpies, despite being a key part of their setup, as he explores whether more security might be available elsewhere.
Mihocek has kicked 32 goals from 16 appearances this season and remains a reliable figure inside 50 for Craig McRae’s team.

But the club’s approach to contract renewals for senior players has raised questions, especially after offers like Jack Silvagni’s at St Kilda and Harry Perryman’s six-year, $900,000-a-season deal at GWS.
Rival interest building
Ralph said that up to six clubs have already inquired about Mihocek’s availability, including Sydney and Melbourne, two sides believed to be “in the hunt” should he seek a move.

“There is a group of senior players that have been offered one-year deals,” Ralph said. “The Jack Silvagni offer and the Harry Perryman deal has to be a sticking point for them.”
While no move is imminent, Mihocek’s decision to delay re-signing could yet shift the off-season market.
