Potential AFL free agent Andrew Brayshaw has declared he wants to stay at Fremantle despite interest from St Kilda and his former coach Ross Lyon.

The Dockers star is out of contract at the end of next season and will have a list of Victorian clubs queuing up for his services - in particular the Saints and Lyon, who drafted Brayshaw to Fremantle.

But the 24-year-old gave the clearest indication yet that he will shun free agency to sign a lucrative long-term deal with Fremantle.

AFL TRADE AND DRAFT NEWS:

"[The new contract] is coming along nicely," Brayshaw told 7NEWS after meeting new team-mate Shai Bolton.

"Had a chat with my manager not too long ago and he is in talks with the footy club (Fremantle).

"Hopefully it gets done soon."

When asked if Fremantle is where he wants to be, Brayshaw replied: "Yeah, very happy."

Brayshaw - an All Australian in 2022 - is among a list of high-profile potential free agents that could leave their clubs at the end of 2025.

Other big-name players coming out of contract include North Melbourne's Luke Davies Uniacke and Carlton's Tom De Koning.
