Fremantle vs. Essendon team news, selection, injuries

Fremantle narrowly escaped with a win against North Melbourne but should make selection tweaks after a disappointing effort at home in general.

Sam Switkowski (hamstring) will be a forced omission, with Isaiah Dudley almost a certainty to return after kicking 1.3 in the WAFL.

Two midfielders are producing dominant WAFL form in Nathan O'Driscoll and Will Brodie, while Jaeger O'Meara could also be fit.

Players that struggled to impact include Josh Draper, Michael Frederick and Neil Erasmus.

Young ruck Vigo Visentini will make his debut for Essendon, with Todd Goldstein being rested.

The Bombers went down by nearly 100 points to Geelong and could opt to make changes.

Mid-season selection Liam McMahon kicked 4.2, while Dylan Shiel is dominating at VFL level but might have his papers stamped already.

The likes of Lachlan Blakiston, Archer May, Luamon Lual and Archer Day-Wicks could make way if omissions need to be made.

Geelong vs. Brisbane Lions team news, selection, injuries

Sam De Koning is set to miss Geelong's next month with an AC joint injury.

In a twin blow, Jake Koladjashnij is set to undergo surgery on a groin issue.

Jed Bews will likely return in defence, while Ollie Henry could come back, with Mark Blicavs to spend time in defence.

George Stevens has continued his impressive form at VFL level and is likely close to an AFL debut.

Brisbane also have their defensive issues with Jack Payne (knee) likely ruled out for the season.

However, they do have options to replace, including Tom Doedee, Darcy Gardiner and Darragh Joyce.

Doedee is yet to play a game for the Lions since crossing from Adelaide with an ACL injury.

Oscar McInerney returned via the VFL last week and was dominant, setting up a possible senior return with Darcy Fort coming out.

Carlton vs. North Melbourne team news, selection, injuries

Injury worries have besieged Carlton, with Charlie Curnow (calf) in doubt for Saturday afternoon's match.

Hudson O'Keeffe also suffered a hamstring injury in the win over West Coast.

With Harry McKay (knee) already out, Lewis Young and Harry Lemmey are the candidates to be brought in, while Tom De Koning could play forward, Marc Pittonet being used as ruck.

Jordan Boyd was best on ground for Carlton's VFL team with 30 possessions.

North Melbourne could regain Charlie Comben from a cracked shoulder blade if he passes a fitness test.

Jackson Archer (hamstring) got through his first VFL game and could be brought back in.

Will Phillips has been North's best VFL player for a number of weeks, while Cooper Harvey and Zane Duursma are also pressing.

Port Adelaide vs. Sydney team news, selection, injuries

Port Adelaide have lost Ollie Wines (knee) for a couple of weeks, while Allir Aliir (knee) and Jason Horne-Francis appear doubtful but are both listed as tests.

Logan Evans looks a likely type to come into defence if needed, while Jeremy Finlayson can play at either end of the ground.

Travis Boak was an emergency last week and seems best-placed to replace Wines.

Sydney could feature four big ins led by Errol Gulden, who might play his first game of the season.

Joel Amartey (suspension) and Matt Roberts (illness) should be named, while Tom Papley (foot) is in the maybe basket with Gulden.

Aaron Francis would be the likely tall to make way for Amartey, while reports are suggesting two-time B&F winner Jake Lloyd could be dropped.

Additionally, Corey Warner and Tom Hanily would feel under threat if any smalls are added.

Collingwood vs. St Kilda team news, selection, injuries

Newly-signed Brayden Maynard (plantar fascia) will return from injury for Collingwood if he passes a test.

His selection would likely see Will Hayes omitted.

Pat Lipinski suffered a concussion before the bye and his selection status is in doubt, while Tom Mitchell continues to press for a senior berth via the VFL.

Will Ross the boss wield the axe at St Kilda?

Several senior players could be under threat including Zak Jones, Dan Butler, Ryan Byrnes and Tobie Travaglia

Two of their most exciting players look set to feature - debutant top draft pick Alix Tauru and promising midfielder Mattaes Phillipou (calf).

Darcy Wilson and Hugh Boxshall were among the best performers in the VFL.

GWS vs. Gold Coast team news, selection, injuries

Toby Greene (glute) should return after being a late withdrawal for GWS last week.

Substitute Josaiah Delana is likely to make way for the skipper.

In bad news, Sam Taylor will miss a month with a broken toe, handing an opportunity to Leek Aleer.

Max Gruzewski continues to press for another senior opportunity and could come in for the struggling Jake Riccardi.

Coming off the bye, it's hard to see Gold Coast making too many changes.

Ethan Read was a late withdrawal against Geelong and could come straight back in, while Lachie Weller and Jake Rogers appear fit after battling injury.

Western Bulldogs vs. Richmond team news, selection, injuries

Expect to see an unchanged Bulldogs side after their romp against St Kilda.

However, Riley Garcia had 39 disposals in the VFL and Jedd Busslinger and Liam Jones also impressed.

Richmond's selection is a bit of a lottery after the bye, but Jayden Short (calf) is still not ready to go.

Kaleb Smith, Tyler Sonsie and Steely Green could be set for a spell, with the likes of Jasper Alger and James Trezise could be called upon.

Noah Balta will be eligible for this day being during the day.
