Footy fans will be able to experience the AFL in Hindi and Mandarin for the first time this season, with Fox Footy confirming alternative language broadcasts for two high-profile games over the next fortnight.
The initiative kicks off with Thursday night’s Western Bulldogs vs GWS Giants clash, which will be available in Hindi on Foxtel channel 507.
Commentators Rajbir Ghuman and Harbir Singh Kang, both seasoned broadcasters and long-time AFL followers, will lead the Hindi coverage. Then, in Round 22, the Grand Final rematch between Brisbane Lions and Sydney Swans will receive the Mandarin treatment, called by Agnes Yao Lu and Barney Yu Xia on Foxtel channel 505.
The streams will also be accessible to all Kayo Sports subscribers at no extra cost.

‘A whole new audience’: Fox Footy expands access
Fox Footy general manager Mick Neill said the move is part of a broader push to make the game more inclusive.
“We’re excited to bring the Hindi and Mandarin language feeds to life across Kayo Sports and Foxtel and share our great game with a whole new audience,” Neill said.
“Raj, Harbir, Agnes and Barney will bring a unique energy and passion to the broadcast, supported by a team of Hindi and Mandarin-speaking production crew. We know these audiences will love their calls!”
The broadcasts are part of the AFL’s ongoing Cultural Heritage Series, which celebrates the backgrounds and stories of players, fans and officials. Two AFLW matches will also feature alternative language commentary later this year, with details to be announced soon.
