CONFIRMED: An AFL docuseries is coming image

An AFL docuseries is on the way.

On Wednesday, Prime Video confirmed a collaboration with Emmy-winning production company Box To Box.

Box to Box has already built a strong resume, producing popular sports series including Formula 1: Drive to Survive, Tour de France: Unchained, and Full Swing.

It's now Australian Rules' turn.

The series intends to provide a "character-driven snapshot" of the 2025 AFL season, rather than focusing on teams as a whole.

Fremantle, GWS, Western Bulldogs, Gold Coast, and Brisbane will all grant camera access, according to SEN.

Star players including Marcus Bontempelli and Toby Greene are expected to be front and centre.

Filming is due to commence this week across Australia.

It is set to premiere on Prime Video and will be available to stream across 240 countries and territories worldwide.

"In the pantheon of international sports, AFL really stood out to us as rich terrain for storytelling potential," Paul Martin, co-founder of Box To Box, said.

"The world of Aussie Rules has everything we look for in our shows — intensity, big personalities, massive stakes, and stories that hit hard on and off the field.

"We’re thrilled to bring audiences around the globe into the heart of such a tenaciously competitive league."

Prime Video has already collaborated with the AFL to produce three docuseries – Making Their MarkKick Like Tayla and Warriors On The Field.
